Fall The new single, Fall, has just been released. Go get it from your digital distribution domain of choice: iTunes, Amazon MP3, Rhapsody and soon to arrive on Spotify, eMusic and Zune. This is just the beginning, kiddos. We have a whole bunch more tracks to unload on your unsuspecting ears soon.

We have a lot of files. Different versions of new songs, mostly. So we were using Subversion to keep track of them. UberSVN on a Linux server at my house, specifically. Cornerstone client on my Mac, those guys using TortiseSVN on Windows. Kind of unusual for a band, maybe, but it was mostly working for us.  Mostly. Until last weekend, when I needed to put a file on the server for Tom. And I. Couldn’t. Do. It.

It kept giving me some stupid error. It was probably my fault. But…whatever the reason was, I couldn’t get it to work. After an hour of troubleshooting, I gave up.

So we tried Dropbox. Wow. We should have done this a year ago. It just works. Now all 20GB of our band files are in one shared account, and we can just do stuff and it syncs automatically.

(We also looked at box.net – but their website wore me out. Busy design. Confusing. Oh look, there’s a matrix you can use to compare three levels of service, some of which offer a free trial including 5GB of storage…or is it 50GB? Ugh. Whatever.)

Thank you, Dropbox. You got us back to what we should be doing.

Hey kids. We just booked another at Cubby Bear North on February 11. Thanks to Whiskey Sin for inviting us to open for them. You can get all the details on our shows page.

Eric is not amused by the content of this post

Ok- first of all, this is gonna be stupid. Really stupid. And fairly crass. So, if you’re easily offended, or really busy, you should probably just skip this one.

As you may know, we record everything. All rehearsals, shows, everything. It makes it a lot easier to write songs, since any ideas we stumble upon or want to develop are automatically captured.

But sometimes, unfortunate stuff happens. And it gets captured too. Like this, as Tommy says toward the end of the track, “off-the-cuff, your-mom shit”. I’m not sure Eric found it amusing at all.

Let’s be clear: no animals, moms, or (hopefully) feelings were harmed during the production of this track. It was really even produced. It’s just one of those dumb things that occasionally happen in the studio. But as I was working on the mixes for this week, it really made me laugh, so I thought it might be worth posting. As I sit here, I can hear Glaser’s voice saying, “that’s great, Beam.”

Rest assured, we have more real songs coming. In fact, we should be ready to publish one in the next week or two. But if find mom jokes amusing, hug someone you love and take a listen to this for now.
